Title: The Shepherd’s Surprise
Text: Luke 2:8-20
In our sermon today, we look at the story of the angels appearing to the shepherds. The angels proclaimed the birth of Christ. This was a singular moment in history that deserved the proclamation by the angels. The shepherds were convinced of the message the angels told them and left their fields and went to Bethlehem. When they arrived, they found exactly what the angels told them. The shepherds encountered Jesus and the trajectory of their life was forever altered. They told everyone about their encounter with Jesus. We also see that Mary keep all of these memories in her heart and the arrival of the shepherds was the confirmation of everything that was told her about her Child. The shepherds where the first evangelists telling the gospel to others. We should tell others about our encounter with Jesus. Are you in a place to hear the message from God and go out and tell others about what He has done for you?
