Title: By any other Name

In our sermon today we will be looking at some of the names of God throughout scripture. We will see that Moses knew God as Yahweh who was, is, and will always be. As we move to Abraham, we will see that he knew Him as Adonai, the master, protector, guard, and caregiver. Gideon knew God as Jehovah Shalom, God was, is, and always will be peace. David knew God as his shepherd or Jehovah Rohi. Moses knew Him as Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my Banner. Elisha knew Him as Yahwek Sabaoth, the Lord of Heaven’s Army. While we all know God in these ways, we know Him in a way that is completely different, we know Him as Emmanuel, or God with us. Join us as we look throughout this month at Emmanuel coming down to earth to save us from our sins.
